Progressions - Kipping Handstand Pushup
Tripod Hold
Points of Performance
- Head in front of hands to form tripod.
- Keep head neutral and do not move neck while supported upside down.
Tripod Extension
Points of Performance
- This motion should be controlled.
- Extend legs until they are straight and then bring into chest.
- At the bottom the butt should be off the wall.
Partial Kipping HSPU
Points of Performance
- Only use 1 Ab-mat to assist the motion. If additional ab-mats are required go back and work strict strength.
- Aggressively extend the legs up and heels towards the wall to assist with the motion.
Kipping Handstand Pushup
Points of Performance
- We recommend lowering with control to avoid coming down hard on your head.
- The legs should bend once your head is on the ground.
- Knees to parallel is faster but gives less assistance, knees to chest is slower but allows for a bigger kip.
